The Manchester Municipal Design Corporation recently published the first issue of Things Happen, a fanzine about Manchester. The design was a collaboration between myself and Des Behari, inspired by cut ‘n’ paste music ‘zines, eyeball melting Oz and angular USSR In Construction. Individually designed articles were produced rather than adhering to any underlying template, formula or grid. It still produces a coherent aesthetic. The cover was printed on lithograph at Manchester Metropolitan University, the magazine printed on risograph at Manchester Area Resource Centre.
